How to: Attach an attachment to an E-mail message.
Solution:
In Microsoft Exchange, select the 'Insert' menu and select 'File...', ' Message...', or 'Object...'. Locate the desired file to attach and click 'Open'.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Programs' and select 'Microsoft Exchange'. (The 'Inbox - Microsoft Exchange' window appears.)
Select 'Microsoft Exchange'
NOTE: If Microsoft Exchange is not present on the 'Start' menu, use 'Add/Remove Programs' in Control Panel to add this program from the original Windows 95 installation diskettes or CD-ROM.
3) If necessary, open the desired mail message.
4) Select the insertion point where the item is to be attached.
5) Do one of the following:
a) To attach a file:
1] Select the 'Insert' menu and select 'File...'. (The 'Insert File' dialog box appears.)
2] In the 'Look in' drop-down list, select the desired drive where the file is saved.
3] Select the appropriate folder and click 'Open'.
4] Select the file to attach.
5] (Optional) In the 'Insert as' group, do one of the following:
a] Select the 'Text only' radio button to insert the file into the message.
b] Select the 'An attachment' radio button to insert the file as an attachment.
c] Select the 'Link attachment to original file' radio button to create a link to the file.
6] Click 'OK'.
b) To attach a message:
1] Select the 'Insert' menu and select 'Message...'. (The 'Insert Message' dialog box appears.)
2] In the 'Location' list box, double-click the desired folder(s) where the message is saved. (The branch expands.)
3] In the 'Items' list box, select the desired message.
4] (Optional) In the 'Insert as' group, do one of the following:
a] Select the 'Text only' radio button to insert the file into the message.
b] Select the 'An attachment' radio button to insert the file as an attachment.
c] Select the 'Link attachment to original file' radio button to create a link to the file.
5] Click 'OK'. (The message is attached.)
c) To attach an object:
1] Select the 'Insert' menu and select 'Object...'
a] To create a new object:
1} Select the 'Create New' radio button.
2} In the 'Object Type' list box, select the application in which to create the object and click 'OK'. (The application opens.)
3} (Optional) Select the 'Display As Icon' check box to create an icon for the object.
4} Create the object in the open application.
5} Save the object and close the application.
b] To select an existing object:
1} Select the 'Create from File' radio button to select an existing object.
2} If you know the filename and location of the object, type the filename and path in the 'File' box and click 'OK'.
3} If the filename and location are unknown:
a} Click 'Browse...'. (The 'Browse' dialog box appears.)
b} In the 'Look in' drop-down list, select the appropriate drive.
c} Select the folder and click 'Open'.
d} Select the file and click 'Open'. (The file appears.)
c] (Optional) Select the 'Display as icon' check box to represent the object as an icon in the message.
d] (Optional) Select the 'Link' check box to create a link to the object.
e] Click 'OK' to insert the object.
